Based in Dallas, Texas, Adenine (pronounced ad-uh-nine) is a five piece Alt Rock/Metal band that combines sophisticated songwriting with pop sensibilities and metal attitude. Becoming increasingly renowned for their high energy shows, Adenine is striving to prove that metal does not need to be ugly, pop does not need to be pretty and that rock fans do not need their music dumbed down. The group writes collaboratively, combining driving rhythms, soaring guitars and haunting melodies to create exceedingly personal music that means something different to each member and, hopefully, each listener. The band draws from professional experience in styles as diverse as hardcore metal to classical with influences that are more diverse still. They have been compared to Pink Floyd, A Perfect Circle, and 10 Years, among others. Adenine is Jason Morris (guitar), Ben Knutson (guitar, vocals), Bane Toler (vocals), Charlie Jakubowski (bass), and Dylan Burt (drums). Playing together live since 2006, they have supported national acts such as Blacklist Union, Opus Dai, Midnight to Twelve and Psychostick. The band is currently working on their first full-length album.
