Eastwood is a five-piece Dallas, TX band with a powerful self-interpreted mix of country, rock, and pop. Consisting of four native Texans and a lone Tennessean, Eastwood’s place in a particular music genre is hard to pinpoint… nevertheless, the band garners loyalty from music fans of all categories with their mix of heartfelt lyrics, strong vocal harmonies, and blend of musical foundations. Although many influences are apparent, the band is most commonly compared to artists such as the Eagles, Tom Petty, Elvis Costello, and the Old 97’s. In October 2005, the band completed recording/production on their first full-length CD, the self-released Die Tryin’. The group worked with local artist/recording guru Salim Nourallah (2006 Dallas Observer Music Awards "Best Producer") at his Pleasantry Lane Studios in Dallas, TX. After eight months of production, Eastwood hit the ground running, performing in support of their debut album at local music venues such as Muddy Waters, Lakewood Bar & Grill, Galaxy Club, and the Texas Tea House. Since, Eastwood has added venues such as Poor David's Pub, Hard Rock Cafe, Club Dada, Adair's, and the Troubadour Saloon (Austin) to it's list. In June 2006, Eastwood original "Will We Still Be Lovers Tomorrow" was chosen for the motion picture soundtrack to Lycanthrope, an independent horror film from the Dallas-based 50/50 Films. "Eastwood is what would happen if Townes Van Zandt, the Bellamy Brothers, and The Eagles got together in a backyard somewhere and had a cookout and drank beer. Great harmonies and melody. Eastwood makes good Americana music. Nothing less, nothing more. No pretentions. They aren't trying to save the world with their music and they aren't carrying any heavy burdens on their shoulders, and sometimes that's refreshing. It's just good, fun music for the sake of music." - Jayson Bales, singer-songwriter "Let me introduce you, my little friends, to Eastwood...you'll feel the dust coming off the hood of your brown camaro when you spin this disc. High, soaring harmonies, gentle acoustic guitars and melodies you swear you've heard before not because you have but only because they're just too damn catchy." - Salim Nourallah, 2006 Dallas Observer Music Awards winner: Best Producer, Best Song, Best Album
