We are EpiTas from Dallas, Texas. The band formed as a quartet in the fall of 2007 consisting of George Miadis, Bill Mantza, Daniel Schmuck and Roy Oteo. Our sound is inspired by classical rock, alternative, psychedelic and acoustic music. Since the formation of the band, we have recorded our debut album and have been playing a steady stream of live shows in the Dallas area. We derived our name from an ancient Greek saying coming from the two words "epi tas." When the Spartan warriors went to war, the women would say "I tan i epi tas" which means, "Come back with your shield, or on it.” In other words, come back victorious or dead, because they did not believe in retreating.
