The band started taking shape in the fall of 2004 when drummer, Brian Bussell, sought out an old childhood friend and former band mate, guitarist John Owings. Brians brother, Brandon Bussell, was brought in as the bands vocalist on a trial basis. After a short time of getting some material together, Donovan Farrow was introduced into the band with the intentions of filling the position of the bassist. During a practice it was discovered by the rest of the band that he could possibly step into the lead vocal position which left the band with the idea of switching Brandon and Donovan around since Brandon had previous experience on bass. Next, the band turned towards the task of looking for a meaningful name that represented their roots that struck a vivid yet haunting image that defined their music. The name Jeremiahs Bridge was chosen after a lot of debate and discussion about local myths and folk lore. After playing a couple of live shows, Brandon realized the commitment needed for the band was too great and decided to take an exit from the group. Jeremiahs Bridge then looked to a known bassist, friend, and former band mate Nick Brower to fill the position. Delving deeper into the reasons behind the name chosen by the band would lead to a myriad of legends surrounding the Anadarko area. Jeremiahs Bridge was a focal point in local legends and lore known across the southwestern part of Oklahoma. There are many different urban legends about the bridge site; chances are everyone has their own story and personal experience. There are many stories ranging from a run away slave that was captured and hung from the structure to a distraught Native American boy that committed suicide in desperation by drowning in the river below. Presently Jeremiahs Bridge is working towards entering into the realm of independent record labels, recording new music, branching out to new live venues, and constantly striving to reach their personal goals as a band. Throughout the history of the band, there have been many obstacles reached and surpassed. They will continue to set new goals and persevere.
