MUDDSPYDER, a Hard Rock band from LUBBOCK TEXAS is made up of: Michael- Lead Vocals, Cliff - Lead & Rhythm Guitar, Brandon - Bass Mick - Percussion. MUDDSPYDER came together in June of 2004 when Mike (vocalist) left the Lubbock band ‘Bedlum’ to join forces with Cliff (Guitarist) who had left the Austin band ‘Mad House’. “Mike and I have always been able to collaborate and feel the music.” Says Cliff. “It was natural that we formed something new and fresh.” The newly formed duo was introduced to Brandon (Bassist) by a mutual friend and the trio instantly felt a musical connection. Several drummers later, the three Muddspyders had lost hope in finding a drummer in Lubbock. However, the guys found Mick in a dusty Oklahoma town and have been kicking at the national music scenes door, spinning a web around the hearts of Americans, Asians, Canadians, and Europeans with no intentions of stopping. Since then the group has climbed the charts online and have had many successful gigs, along with receiving radio play in several areas of the USA. Michael is from Austin Texas. After having enough with the joining, leaving and band breakups with musician want to be types. Several bands later, he found himself in Lubbock, Texas. Taking music more seriously, he especially began focusing more toward the business aspect of the band and was able to slowly build a band of individuals that had their act together. “I can’t stand punching this time clock anymore; I wanna rock-n-roll.” Cliff grew up in San Antonio, Texas with a lot of drive and enthusiasm for the music business which eventually led him to Austin in his early twenties. An attitude you can still hear in his guitar riffs to this day, Cliff states…..“I only took direction from me, not anyone else! I cared less what anybody thought.” The wild card in the band, Brandon, is from Lubbock, Texas. The group considers him the mystery man of the band. Being well versed in music composition, Brandon writes music in his spare time. His love of taking chances shows in his bass style and outrageous personality. Like Brandon says, “Hey, screw ‘em if they can’t take a joke, joke ‘em if they can’t take a screw!” Playing the drums since age 13, Mick brings professional, live and touring experience to the group. Born in Oklahoma and jamming with bands of several musical genres his true talent and passion for playing the skins shows both live and in the studio. The name MUDDSPYDER came from an afternoon party. As the day passed on, things became a little more interesting! So interesting, that one of the group’s close friend had reached a point of almost passing out. All of a sudden he was jumping up and shouting, “I got it!” As we all looked up in confusion, he accidentally spilled a little beer in between the crack of a park bench and in the dry dirt below a figure that looked like a spider bubbled up. It stuck! We pondered other names, but always came back to MUDDSPYDER! The bands first gig was at the Los Carnales biker club on May 14th 2005, with no stopping in mind! The band is currently on the second leg of MUDDSPYDER'S 'CHAINS R BROKEN' tour. MUDDSPYDER has gone from a regional act to a national act in six months and still pressing forward while maintaining control along the way. MUDDSPYDER comes into the music scene with a fresh vision of rock. As Michael sums it up, “We create music that we can play live instead of this new wave of music that can only be produced in a studio and we will not deviate from that.” Collectively the band feels, ”We will not accept being what people want us to be, we’re just a group of guys that love to play and do it our own way in our ‘token time’.” We are in this for the music.
