Summer Ames loves to write and perform music. Before she could walk, the Dallas artist was influenced by her grandmother’s dusty vinyl albums and the jazz sounds of Ella Fitzgerald and Etta James, among many others. As time went on, Summer’s love of music would grow along with her musical ability. With a natural talent for performing vocally, Summer added piano, guitar, violin and cello to her repertoire. Her early influences along with her musical experience have combined to create her unique acoustic/jazz/folk sound. Her life experiences influence much of her songwriting, as she sings about things that are real in her life. Today, Summer writes and performs more than ever, blessed with amazing opportunities to do what she loves. Recently, DreamWorks chose Summer to record vocal tracks for an upcoming movie. Today, Colbie Caillat, Natasha Bedingfield and Sara Bareilles serve among her musical influence. Summer continues to share her music with everyone she meets: It’s what she loves to do.
