SWINGING TERESA is an original hard rock band originally from Detroit MI.Oppurtunity has recently relocated SwingingTersea to Houston, Texas. They're setting standards for new heavy but melodic music, blending all types of musical influences together. Venues are easy to come across but it’s hard to find the A&R; representation. Swinging Teresa has conquered Houston's music scene along with Galveston. The band has paid dues with appearances all over the area. With media coverage from newspaper articles to live TV appearances, Swinging Teresa is primed for label interest. The name Swinging Teresa is a tribute to a friend in Battle Creek, Michigan. Teresa lost her battle with her demons and ended her own life at the end of a noose. Roomates and friends discovered Teresa 4 hours too late. This band serves as a constant reminder that there is no way out of this world without dying an honorable death. With their positive message, they hope to change the perception that death is an easy way out. Started in 2002, Mike Tillery met some talented local musicians, recorded and hit the road. A lot of state lines and miles later he ended up in Houston, TX. He is very appreciative of the bridges he has crossed and the musicians he has been blessed to share the stage with. Currently he is teamed up with Jesus De Los Santos, Brian Manry, Alfredo De los Santos and Marc Salinas. They all share the same desire to tour and get signed to a label. Hopefully one day soon, the right person will read this and give them the shot they desire so much. Swinging Teresa has made a name for themselves in South Texas, with their frequent gigging and promotion. It was a constant process of proving themselves to the right people. Eventually earning them national acts and a dedicated following. National acts that the band has shared the stage with include Helloween(Harpos/Detroit, Taproot(Ann Arbor/The Blind Pig), Mutant Speed(Pensacola/The Wooden Horse), Primordial Ooze(Mobile/Coffe Haus), Skrape & Skid Row minus Sebastian(Grand Rapids/Intersection). Swinging Teresa has played all the major venues from Houston to Galveston; Engine Room, Fitzgeralds, Scout Bar, The Balinese Room, 19th Hole, FBI, Jakes, etc. They have toured as well, to many major cities such as Austin, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Detroit, Chicago & San Francisco.
