The Atoms, an exciting new quartet from Dallas, TX, combine catchy modern rock with a distinct Texas accent. On a Cold January night in Dallas Texas, four old friends partook heavily in the joys of Hops and Barley (beer to the common man) and joked about the idea of forming a band. Three of the four future Atoms were seasoned veterans in to the Dallas music scene, but were looking for a new and exciting project to propel them into the spotlight of success. That night, as the beer flowed and the frustration began to turn into intrigue, the joke started to sound more like a plan. The four friends agreed to a jam session and before they knew what had happened they were writing songs and rehearsing on a regular basis. The project had become a band. All that was missing now was a name, and after much more beer and a little less thought, The Atoms were born. Having developed a unique and varied sound the band headed into the studio in the summer of 2003, and recorded their debut EP The Great American Trainwreck. The band then set about taking their music to the stage, focused on building a strong fan base.
