he Everyday People may be Austin’s best kept secret, but with the release of their highly anticipated full-length studio album “Catch Me” the band is a secret that won’t be kept for long.
The Everyday People have built themselves a strong and steady fan-base through relentless touring and their first studio effort, an EP entitled “Complicated,” which was met with great praise from both fans and critics alike. “Catch Me” follows suit, serving up more of The Everyday People’s catchy, hook-laden blend of soul infused rock and roll.
“Catch Me” is an album that truly demonstrates the musical range of the Everyday People. Jeffrey David’s emotive vocal performance combines perfectly with the quiet yet impressive guitar skills of A.D. Hernandez. Add the solid and often funky bass lines of Chris York and the subtle yet powerful drumming of Mitch Cheatham and the result is nothing less than a pure toe-tappin’ rock-n-soul album.
From the soulful harmonies of “Sleep” and “Another Sad” to the funk-driven rock-n-roll of the title track, “Catch Me” is an album that will surely solidify The Everyday People’s status as an incredibly dynamic band that is more than ready for the national spotlight.
On March 9, The Everyday People celebrated the release of “Catch Me” at their CD release party at The Parish in downtown Austin. They played one of their signature high-energy shows in front of a near capacity crowd. METV.com was there to capture the entire evening on high-definition video. The air date for this show has yet to be announced.
With the release of “Catch Me,” The Everyday People have taken a leap forward. Real musical talent and an incredible pop-sensibility will no doubt ensure a healthy career for this band from the live music capital of the world. |
