It began in the darkness of many local swill slingers, born from boredom and booze, brought into existence by a shared disdain for the music that was polluting our ears at the time. We knew that we could do better, that we could make the music we wanted to hear, and so became The Shut Up Shop, pounding out heartfelt fuzz-pop songs that intermingle the apathy, failure, confusion, and joy of our existences with tunes that keep our audience tapping their toes along. We are united by our love of good music, good times, and finally making the music we've wanted to hear. This combination of indie-like ethos and punk rock attitude makes us, in our not-so-humble opinion, one of the most exciting bands to emerge from Northeast Texas in some time.
